People in many parts of the ancient world played the 'game of twenty squares' and boards have been found from Egypt to India, and date from around 3000 B.C. up until modern times.
E-books
There are some 50 e-books available at GIG - these are in the process of being put back to the site. The idea is to keep adding interesting books from the living writers and from the public domain. I am delighted that Ted Nottingham and Guy Hoffman have added their e-books!
